Official: Frimpong joins Liverpool

Liverpool FC has agreed the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.
Nederlands International brought on paper on a long -term contract with the Reds in the AXA Training Center on Friday after successfully a medical one.
Frimpong spoke with Liverpoolfc.com for the first time and said: “It was pretty simple. Liverpool came and said they were interested, and for me it was clearly a no-brainer.
“For me it was like:” Whatever you do, just get this done, ” [speaking to] My agents: “Just get this done.”
“Liverpool fans, I'm going to give my everything, my energy, my working speed and hopefully we can win together, we celebrate together, get everything together.
“I am just excited to be here. Thank you for accepting me and I will not let you down and I will give you the energy you want.”
The versatile right -sided player arrives after four and a half seasons in Germany with Leverkusen, where he made 190 performances, scored 30 goals and produced 44 assists.
Frimpong was part of the Leverkusen side that wrote history by winning the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal in 2023-24, with their record of 51-match unbeaten run ending in the Europa League final.
On an individual level, the 24-year-old was mentioned in the Bundesliga team of the season before 2022-23 and 2023-24.
Frimpong, born in Amsterdam, started his career in the youth ranks in Manchester City before he went to the north of the border to Celtic in 2019.
He enjoyed a year and a half in Scotland and won three major awards there before Leverkusen acquires his services.
Frimpong debuted in October 2023 with the Senior Dutch National Team and has so far has 12 caps and one goal for his country.
