Amorim confident Fernandes has not played final game for Man Utd

Ruben Amorim is convinced that Bruno Fernandes did not play his last game for Manchester United in the midst of rumors about a move by Old Trafford this summer.

It has been reported that Saudi Pro League side, Al-Hilal, weigh a movement for the captain of Red Devils, who was the striking artist in a disappointing season.

Al-Hilal hopes to close a deal within the next two weeks, with the Club World Cup to start in the United States on 14 June.

Fernandes registered 37 targets (19 goals, 18 assists) in all competitions Last campaign, with United finished 15th in the Premier League and the Europa League final lost to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 30-year-old started in the last match of United of their tour after the season by Malaysia, which ended in a 3-1 victory over Hong Kong on Friday, but was replaced during the break.

After he was behind the 19th minute strike of Juninho, Chido Obi scored twice and Ayden Heaven scored late to complete the turnaround in the Hong Kong Stadium.

Seeing Fernandes would be a big blow to Amorim. However, the reported transfer costs were able to collect the club after missing European football next season.

Fernandes signed a contract extension until 2027, with the option of another year, in August last year, and Amorim continued to relax about the situation.

“I don't think so,” Amorim replied when he was asked if the victory over Hong Kong might have been his last game.

“I don't know for sure, nobody knows, but I don't think so.

“He sees us take some action to change things and I think he wants to stay.

“He says no to many things, but he has chosen that he wants to win. He is very young, he is really good and he must be in the best competition in the world.

Asked if Manchester United could reject a huge range of Al-Hilal for Fernandes, Amorim added: “Yes, we can find another way to get money.”
