PSG Face Inter Milan tonight in Munich for the final of the Champions League. Les Parisiens have the opportunity to win the European Premier Club competition for the first time in their history. With regard to the French clubs, only PSG's arch rivals Marseille won the Champions League in 1993. In a nod to history, Les Phocéens won the largest prize in Munich against a team established in Milan.
In the meantime, Luis Enrique was able to win a second Champions League after he had led Barcelona to the top in 2015. “I'm Serene,” said the Spaniard in his press. “I am ten years older compared to my last final. I try to transfer the team what a great opportunity it is to play in a Champions League final, to write history.” Luis Enrique added that PSG is used to play in the final. Already in last week Les Parisiens completed a domestic Treble when winning the final of the Coupe de France against Reims (3-0). “We have experienced these situations earlier. The mental aspect is very important, but we are used to it.”
The PSG head coach said that, given the winding path from Ligue 1 Champions to the final, PSG was already playing 'early finals' in the Champions League this season. In the competition phase, PSG was particularly confronted with Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Atlético de Madrid. “It is an advantage for us. We have not shown any fear. My greatest motivation is to mark the history of PSG, to mark the history of a country. The first is what motivates me the most.”
