According to Ouest-France, Dunkerque head coach Luis Castro is close to filling the management of Nantes. Les Canaris is looking for a replacement for Antoine Kombouaré, which was fired after the end of the Ligue 1 season. Nantes has identified the Portuguese head coach as the ideal fit to lead the 8-time French champions. His conversations are reportedly demanded very well between the two parties, because in principle an agreement has been reached.
It is said that Castro met Nantes' managers on Tuesday morning and made a good impression. The 45-year-old led Dunkerque to the semi-finals and the fourth place from Ligue 2 to the Coupe de France. Castro has given priority to a move to Nantes, an outcome that became clearer as a lens, who were also interested in Castro, seem to appoint Pierre Sage as a head coach. Since Castro remains bound with Dunkerque during a contract that expires in 2027, Nantes must now find an agreement with the Seasiders about compensation.
