Bruno Fernandes has been given the opportunity to leave Manchester United for a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia, but he has previously suggested moving to another country
Bruno Fernandes has a big decision – and whatever call he makes, he will probably have to give up his earlier plans. The Captain of Manchester United has had the opportunity from a mega-money movement to Saudi-Arab side Al-Hilal, but still has to think.
Fernandes is at a crossroads in his career after a terrible campaign for United who saw them end 15th in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final. After a miserable and embarrassing journey after the season to Malaysia and Hong Kong, he must now decide whether he will stay with United, or money applies with a move to Al-Hilal.
The Saudi club is reportedly prepared to pay United £ 100 million to sign the Portugal International, which they will then pay £ 100 million in the course of its contract. His agent Miguel Pinho went to Riyad this week for conversations with the managers of the club and he is said to have a week to decide, where Al-Hilal is preparing for the club World Cup.
In the midst of the storm, Fernandes moved the pot by placing a Portuguese quote on Instagram that translates into: “If you tried and failed, congratulations! There are people who don't even try.”
It will soon be a crunch time for the 30-year-old midfielder, who is a contraction with United until June 2027, although the club also has the option of another year. Fernandes has 98 goals and 87 assists in 290 games for United since he came to them from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020 and has been a captain for two seasons.
Al-Hilal's interest in his services is nothing new, but the terrible form of United and the need to rejuvenate their team suddenly makes the movement a clear opportunity. Whatever he does at United, or moving to Saudi Arabia-it now seems unlikely that Fernandes will not continue with a desire that has been sent earlier to play in Brazil.
He turns 31 in September and this summer's decision seems to be closing a future transfer to a Brazilian side. “When I can, I follow it because I find Brazilian football attractive, electric football, with a lot of quality, joy, very one -on -one,” he said earlier.
Did you say! Will Bruno Fernandes decide to leave Manchester United? Respond below.
“It is pure football. And I think now, with the coaches who are there, not only the Portuguese, but also Brazilians, are increasingly developing in the tactical part.
“I don't really like to talk about the distant future, but it's like I said. It's attractive football, very interesting.
The contract reportedly offered to Al-Hilal is worth a stunning £ 700,000 a week and would last three years. At the end of that he will approach 34 and he could choose to go back to his native Portugal, instead of to South America, away from his extensive family.
