Spain star Rodri Hernandez could get a huge contract extension by Manchester City prior to the FIFA Club World Cup.
The 28-year-old missed most of the domestic campaign of 2024/25 after an ACL injury in September, but his rehabilitation was positive.
Pep Guardiola has opted for caution at his comeback in the city team with every step that is slowly taken to prevent problems.
Rodri made a cameo -backkeer in City's last Premier League matches of the season, but he was not included in the Spain team of Luis de la Fuente for the incoming UEFA Nations League matches.
However, there are no long -term worries about his fitness, and reports from the Daily Mirror indicate that City is preparing a huge renewal offer.
The current deal of Rodri in Manchester runs until June 2027 with City who wants to expand that until the end of the 2028/29 season in the midst of rumors about Real Madrid's interest.
Now that Kevin De Bruyne will continue this summer as a free agent, City is ready to use his salary to improve Rodri's conditions from £ 200,000 a week to £ 300,000.
That would bring him at number 2 on the best earnings list of the city in the back stars of Star Erling Haaland.
The conversations will continue before the Guardiola team flies to the US and a decision can be stopped until they return for the preseason.
Guardiola was relieved by the call from De La Fuente not to bring Rodri back to the Spain fold so that he can concentrate on the club World Cup.
The experienced midfielder will travel with the team and the impressed Stadsmedic Staff has given Guardiola the green light to start him in the tournament.
His ability to last for 90 minutes remains unclear at this stage, but he will certainly perform in the opening match of City, against Wydad Casablanca on June 18.
