On Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain saw their first UEFA Champions League win on dominant fashion and beat Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich. Here are two statistics for each team after the 70th final of the competition.
Paris Saint-Germain: Record breakers shine in Germany
24 – Paris Saint -Germain dominated and blinded in the Allianz Arena, making the biggest victory margin in a final of the European Cup/Champions League.
Now, 22 years after Marseille's 1-0 victory over AC Milan, France finally has a European champion. Les Parisiens became the 24th different club to call itself Champions of Europe and became the second club in three years to do this for the first time.
5 – PSG broke various records on the way to Glorie. They became the first Ligue 1 team to complete the League-Cup-UCL Treble, and the ninth side in general.
As mentioned earlier, they handed out the toughest defeat ever in a European Cup pronouncing piece. However, the number five has a different interest.
Of all European Cup/Champions League winners during the seven decades, no team has more losses on their way to glory than PSGs five. Three of them came in the competition phase before they turned things in the knockout phases and only lost twice.
Inter Milan: Sorry Nerazzurri ends Trophy
4 – It was a sour way to put an end to what should be seen as an excellent campaign for Inter Milan. Yet the Nerazzurri will be without a trophy in 2024/25. It was their seventh European Cup/Champions League Final performance (their fourth defeat), and a second in three years.
Inter became the sixth different club that lost four or more in the showpiece. They join AC Milan and Liverpool with so much. Bayern Munich and Benfica have five, while Juventus holds the record with seven losses.
17 – No country has had it rougher in the UCL final than Italian. Exclusive the final of 2002/03, with a few Series A teams, there have been 28 editions of the competition where the final is disputed by a Serie A club.
The loss of Inter on Saturday was the 17th opportunity in which the Italian team fell to beat. That is seven of Germany with 10 (excluding the All-Bundesliga pronkpiece 12 years ago) for the most part of each country.
