At UFC 279 in 2022 it was announced that Nate Diaz would fight his last fight in the UFC after an incredibly popular career in the promotion.
Unfortunately, however, he received an extremely unfortunate hand while he was linked to Khamzat Chimaev, who was completely placed for him by everyone at the time.
Only a few days before the event, the main card hunters were planned to participate in the press conference before the fight.
Only a few minutes before the planned press conference, UFC boss Dana White came from Backstage to inform fans that the press conference had been canceled due to a huge Melee Backstage between 'Borz' and Holland.
Because the event was already endangered, Catastrophe continued only a day later when Chimaev weighed no less than 7.5 pounds too heavy for his fight against Diaz, which resulted in a huge last-minute battle mixture.
'The Trailblazer' was already planned to take on Daniel Rodriguez and Tony Ferguson would compete against Li Jingliang on the Undercard.
Following Chimaev's Monumental Weightmiss, Holland agreed to exchange Diaz to take on against Chimaev and to save the UFC legend of saving a potential in his last fight.
Holland became completely cheeky through the Chechen and suffered from a loss of a first round after Chimaev immediately brought him to the ground.
On fairy -tale fashion, however, Diaz scored an entry of the fourth round on 'El Cucuy' and finished his UFC career with a perfect victory.
