Mateo Kovacic will miss the World Cup Club after having undergone an operation with an Achilles injury.
The Midfielder of Manchester City played 42 times this season over all the competitions, but was absent in the FA Cup FA Cup defeat on his side against Crystal Palace.
Kovacic, who has recorded a career-high seven goals for the campaign, will now be outside the City's Club World Cup campaign, which starts against Moroccan Kant Wydad on 18 June.
The International in Croatia will also miss the upcoming world cup qualifications of his country against Gibraltar on 6 June and three days later the Czech Republic.

“Mateo will spend the summer rehabilitation of the operation and everyone in the club wishes him a quick recovery,” said Man City in a statement.
The side of Pep Guardiola also plays Juventus and Al-Aas in Group G at the Club World Cup, where they are the ruling champions after the trophy can be canceled in 2023.
