Jadon Sancho passed the 2024/25 season on loan in Chelsea by Van Manchester United and a decision has now been made during his future after the summer transfer window has been opened for business
Chelsea will have to pay Manchester United £ 5 million after he has not reached an agreement to make the loan movement of Jadon Sancho permanent. Sancho spent the season on loan from United in West -Londen and the blues had an option to make it permanent for £ 25 million, but conversations with the winger were not successful.
The 25-year-old returned five goals and 10 assists in 42 performances in all competitions for Chelsea in the 2024/25 season. He helped Enzo Maresca's side fourth in the Premier League and winning the Conference League and was expected to come to the club permanently.
Ruben Amorim has made it clear that Sancho is not in his plans for next season and United is desperate to load their margin players in the summer transfer window to finance a squadevision. Sancho has not enjoyed itself since he was signed in Borussia Dortmund for United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 and will now have to look for a different output route.
Chelsea made conversations with Sancho and his representatives after the 4-1 win over Real Betis on Wednesday, in which the winger scored. But the negotiations have now been called, according to athletics, where Sancho has now left the blues when his loan agreement ends on 30 June.
Despite his modest return to the field, Sancho integrated well in Chelsea and Maresca spoke glowing about his contribution after lifting the conference competition trophy in Poland. But he will now have to look for a new club this summer, with a return to Parent Club United that does not fit any of both parties. The report states that Sancho has options in England and elsewhere in Europe.
He was associated with a return to Germany, where he played for Dortmund, with reportedly interested Bayer Leverkusen. Leverkusen will be the same with money this summer, with Florian Wirtz in conversations to follow Jeremie Frimpong to Liverpool, but there is a stumbling block for a movement for Sancho.
The German side has appointed Erik ten Hag to replace Xabi Alonso, who joined Real Madrid, and the Dutchman has no good relationship with Sancho from their time together in United. It was a fight with ten HAG who enchanted a loan to Dortmund in January 2024.
Did you say! Where should Jadon Sancho go afterwards? Respond below.
It seems that Amorim has chosen a similar approach to Sancho, because he had rejected him simply when asked earlier in the season. “I'm just focused on my players and my problems,” he said. “Sancho is not my problem.”
The £ 5 million compensation that Chelsea owes to finding out the Sancho deal will be a timely boost for United. However, it does mean that they now have to find a new buyer for the unwanted winger, who has only 12 goals and six assists in 83 games for the club for four years – a stark contrast to the 40 goals and 47 assists in 118 performances for Dortmund.
