Chelsea has rejected the chance to sign Jadon Sancho Permanent from Manchester United after the winger did not match the personal conditions on Stamford Bridge, according to Tuesday.
The 25-year-old joined Chelsea in August last year in a deal with an obligation to buy it for a maximum of £ 25 million.
The athletics reported that the club and Sancho had not agreed on a deal and Chelsea now had to pay a fine of £ 5 million to United.
Chelsea finished fourth in the Premier League and won the UEFA Conference League, where Sancho scored the third goal in last week's 4-1 victory against Real Betis.
But the international of England has had an inconsistent season, scored only five times and makes 10 assists in 41 performances for Chelsea.
He only scored one Premier League goal after the beginning of December.
When he was asked about the future of Sancho after the victory of last week's conference League, Chelsea -Baas, Enzo Maresca said: “From now on we will sit at the club and decide what will happen for next year.”
Sancho, whose contract with United runs until 2026, returns to Old Trafford. The club has an option to extend the deal for another year.
The attacker came to United from Borussia Dortmund for £ 73 million in 2021, but was unable to achieve his price tag.
He was involved in a public spit with former United Baas Erik ten Hag early in the 2023/24 season and did not appear before he was borrowed from his former club Dortmund.
He once played for United in the 2024/25 season, in the community -shield in August, before he made the switch to Chelsea.
Chelsea announced on Monday the signing of the Portuguese midfielder Dario Essugo from Sporting Lisbon in a deal worth £ 18 million.
