Jon Jones is widely considered the greatest UFC fighter of all time and has certainly defeated the best of multiple eras.
The New York native just defended his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 and appears to be heading towards the end of his career. Before winning gold at 265 pounds last year, he was one of the most decorated light heavyweights ever with a number of big name victories.
He competed against Rampage Jackson, Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson during his run at 205 pounds. And aside from one bizarre disqualification for a rule that has since been changed, Jones defeated every opponent his way.
Jon Jones names the hardest puncher he has ever fought
To find the biggest blow Jon Jones has taken in his career, he says fans have to go back to April 2012. While still in his early 20s, the future of the sport received a more experienced name in Rashad Evans in his third defense. of the light heavyweight title.
In that fight he says he took an overhand right that left him on skates and had previously knocked out world champions like Chuck Liddell. Speaking to Adin Ross during a stream where the pair trained together, Jones explained how hard he was hit.
“The hardest hit I ever got was from a guy named Suga Rashad Evans,” he said. “He caught me with an overhand right hand, the exact same punch he hit and dropped Chuck Liddell, he caught me with that same punch.
“It wasn't that he hit me that hard, it was the speed of the blow. It was almost like you can tighten your arm or just let go of your arm and let it swing. It's kind of like a punch, man, he hit me so fast and I had no idea what it was.
“He just grabbed me by the edge of my chin and I remember my feet were so far gone that I couldn't control my legs. Then I refocused and was able to get back up, but man, that was by far the fastest hit I ever took and thank God I wasn't knocked out, because I probably should have been.”
Jon Jones calls Stipe Miocic one of his biggest wins
Another big night in Jones' career came last month at UFC 309, when he defeated the most decorated heavyweight of all time in Stipe Miocic. He defeated the Ohio native in three rounds and celebrated with newly elected President Donald Trump.
“Tonight was incredibly special,” Jones told the media at his post-fight press conference. “Finish Daniel Cormier [in a fight that has since been ruled a No Contest] is there too. Stephan Bonnar was the first star I fought against as a young man.

“Everyone around me told me that I was nobody and that I couldn't do it and that for the first time I had to really work on meditation and raise my self-esteem to beat Stephan Bonnar. Mauricio 'Shogun' taught me that I could be great.
“As a kid from a small town, never good at anything, I became a champion. DC, it was just very personal. And tonight, tonight is the greatest moment of my life.
“To talk about Jesus in front of our president and let the world know how proud I am to be a U.S. champion, it felt great, man. To finish Stipe, it felt great.”
