Leon Goretzka – The old partner of Kimmich in the heart of the midfield of Bayern – also greeted the performance of his teammate.
“100 caps at his age – I don't get the feeling that he is planning to stop quickly – that's an incredible achievement,” said Goretzka.
“It is great to see him rewarded for all the work he puts in his body, the discipline that he always stays fit, always there is always ready to play for his team.
“As our captain, he is almost always aware of his role as a leader and example. So I am really happy for him. A hundred caps is definitely a big milestone.”
Germany appears for the first time in the Nations League Finals and focuses on their first piece of silverware since winning the 2014 World Cup.
