Bruno Fernandes insists that he wants to play “at the highest possible level”, after rejecting a lucrative move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
The Manchester United-Schipper was associated with a move to the Saudi Pro League, where Portugal teammates Cristiano Ronaldo, Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo men.
Fernandes considered a “exciting” offer to report his salary and to join Al-Hilal on time for the club World Cup, which starts later this month.
However, the midfielder has chosen to stay in Old Trafford, where he has made 290 performances and scored 98 goals since he came to Man Utd in January 2020.
Fernandes came to the decision after discussions with his family, while he would not leave by Red Devils -Baas Ruben Amorim.

“Manchester United said they didn't want to sell me. They said that if I wanted to go, I could, but they didn't need the money,” he told reporters prior to Portugal's Nations League semi-final to Germany on Wednesday.
“I spoke with Ruben Amorim, who insisted during that period that I didn't go.
“I want to play at the highest possible level. I want to play big competitions. I know I can still do it, and I want to be happy to do the most that I love the most.
“For better or worse, this is how I see football, and I am passionate about football and this is the decision I made.”
Fernandes will probably perform on Wednesday, when Portugal wants to overcome Germany in the Allianz Arena and to reach their Second Nations League final.
