Florian Wirtz continues to be connected to a move to Liverpool, but spoke about the most recent rumors about a potential switch to Anfield and seems to have put a firm in bed there
Florian Wirtz seems to be forced to be in a reconsideration after a potential move to Liverpool. The Bayer Leverkusen star has been strongly linked to a switch to the Premier League champions in recent weeks.
It has been suggested that Liverpool would be willing to pay a British transfer record to sign it, whereby the German also gave his approval to a transfer. In the meantime, it was also reported that Wirtz had even gone as far as choosing the song he would put on on Merseyside.
The playmaker was apparently enthusiastic about the number 10 shirt, despite the fact that Argentina star Alexis Mac Allister currently owns, the number. Wirtz, however, went to Instagram on Tuesday to give those claims.
He wrote: “Whoever says I want the 10. I respect players. Do not believe everything that is written”, in addition to a clown -emoji.
So with the number 10 shirt possible from the table, Wirtz can now watch different options. 27 – The shirt that he wore when breaking into the first team of Bayer Leverkusen – is currently empty after he was previously worn by Darwin Nunez.
The number 7 can also be a surprise option if Luis Diaz leaves the club in the midst of reported interest from Saudi Arabia. Wirtz wore 7 for his Germany debut. He also worn 17 on his more recent call-ups, but that is from Curtis Jones.
Regardless of the shirt number he wears at Anfield, Liverpool has already been told that they will win a 'right number 10' if they get a deal for Wirtz over the line. Speaking of his capacities, his Bayer Leverkusen -teammate Nathan Tella said: “You can see the possibility every time he comes on the ball. He is one of those players between the lines, he can dribble, he can fit, he can score.
“For me as an attacker, he is great to play with. I am happy that I was able to play with him and I hope I can still continue to play with him.”

He added: “He has so much talent, so many technical skills, he has an eye for goal. He is just a brilliant, real no. 10. Someone you have to look forward to.”
Wirtz is expected to be in action in the coming weeks while Germany navigates the final of the Nations League. They compete against Portugal in the first semifinal on Wednesday evening.
