Tottenham brutally referred to their “lasagne-gate” Hartzeer from 2006 in the new launch of the new home kit.
The North Londoners released their 2025-26 comic with a shiny video about their social media channels.
With the slogan “a vow takes” – the campaign was theme on fans and players who made wedding style vows.
Beloved former skipper Ledley King started the video by saying: “Loyal Spurs supporters. Beloved LilyWhites. We are gathering here today to make a vow between fans and club.”
A series of fans and players, including Lucas Bergvall, Dejan Kulusevski and Micky van de Ven, then went through the routine for paying the wedding style.
As King, 45, the famous “in illness and in health” line – the promo showed a sign lasagna.
The Dodgy Meal is a reference to Tottenham's May 2006 collision with West Ham in Upton Park.
The side of Martin Jol went in the game that had to win to protect Champions League football for the first time since the famous competition renamed the Old European Cup.
The disaster hit the eve of the game, because various members of Jol's team were brought down due to illness after a “Dodgy Lasagne”.
Spurs then lost 2-1 and had Rivals Arsenal sick to put them to fourth place.
Ex-white Hart Lane favorite Jermain Defoe, who scored Tottenham's goal in Upton Park, told the transfer of Transfer Talk: “I remember the structure of the game. It was huge for the football club.
“We had the feeling that we deserved it, I remember that I went into the game and everyone buzzed.
“We had the sacrament and to bed, I remember a phone call from the doctor to ask how I felt, because many of the boys were not good. I thought it was one or two, but there had quite a bit difficult. I couldn't believe it.
“Such an important game and seven of the boys were sick. I still respect boys like Michael Carrick, who went out and played, even though they struggled.”
Tottenham desperately tried to postpone the game, only to be told in no uncertain terms that failure to play could lead to a point deduction.
On what it was like in the dressing room that infamous defeat, Jermaine Jenas later reminded: “There was this moment when we were in the dressing room and there were eight, nine, 10 people everywhere sick.
“One is in the toilet, you are in the sink, you are in a bucket, everyone is just sick everywhere.
“And then you could only hear the biggest party that was ever going on in the dressing room opposite.”
“It's just Tottenham”
King, who missed the game thanks to a broken midfoot, thought: “The players were not ready to play football. I didn't know how they played. I thought that at the time is just our happiness, not? It's just Tottenham.”
Despite the trauma, Spurs fans could see the funny side of the Lasagne reference, with one writing on X: “It is absolutely brilliant, made me laugh so hard when I saw it.”
While a second remarked: “The lasagna was a wonderful touch.”
A third joke: “This killed me.”
But another added: “Still injured TBH.”
