Khabib Nurmagomedov was not a fan of Julianna Peña's career-best victory over Amanda Nunes.
UFC Bantam weight champion Ladies Julianna Peña recovered the throne of the division when she pulled Raquel Pennington on UFC 307 last year. It marked the return from Peña to the cage after back-to-back battles with Amanda Nunes, including her upset victory of all time at UFC 269.
Peña's entry from Nunes on UFC 269 is considered one of the most amazing disturbances in the UFC history by many. The victory happened at a time when Nunes seemed unbeatable; Winning belts in several divisions with little resistance.
UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov was the exception between the strong reactions to Peña's victory.

At an Eagle FC press conference, Nurmagomedov was asked about his thoughts about the MMA of women and rejected Peña's victory.
“We can see what Julianna Peña did with Amanda Nunes,” Nurmagomedov started.
“But Julianna Peña, she is not like the best or something. She just beat Amanda Nunes.
“We can't take a good look [female] Fighters around the world. There are only five or six of them. (H/T Talksport)
In an appearance about the Joe Rogan experience, Peña responded to Nurmagomedov's comments.
'I saw in a pressure that they asked [Nurmagomedov] A question and he was just completely the whole victory and so lowered … it broke completely my heart, “said Peña.
“I had something like:” guy, you break my heart, man. “He must be friends with Kayla Harrison or something,” Peña continued. “I don't know. Because he said,” If this is the top of the women's department, it's a joke. “
“I mean, it wasn't very nice. I didn't appreciate it, Khabib.”
Nurmagomedov has also made controversial comments about ring girls in combat sports and calls them 'meaningless'. The comments furious UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko and they called 'bad and wrong'.
Peña then lost Van Nunes in their UFC 277 Rematch due to a unanimous decision. A trilogy match was set for UFC 289 before Peña withdrew because of the injury of what would ultimately be Nunes' pension fight.
Nurmagomedov entered the UFC Hall of Fame in 2022 after his retirement from MMA in 2020. His last fight was a successful lightweight defending defense against Justin Gaethje on UFC 254.
Julianna Peña defended Ronda Rousey against Swipes of UFC 316 Foe Kayla Harrison
PEña starts this weekend with her second Bantamweight title for the former PFL -Superster Kayla Harrison on UFC 316. The two have hurdles in the weeks prior to the fight, including the UFC foundation of Ronda Rousey.
In a recent joint interview with ESPN, Harrison tried the performance of Rousey and praised her run at Olympic Gold in Women's Judo. Peña defended Rousey and reminded Harrison of her confrontation from 2005 on the mats with Rousey who did not go on her way.
Harrison earned the UFC Bantamweight title after victories in Holly Holm and Ketlen Vieira after her signing in 2024. Before he came to the UFC schedule, Harrison won several world championship titles in PFL.
