Chelsea started conversations with AC Milan about a surprise movement for Mike Maignan with the French goalkeeper who entered the San Siro contract in the last year of his contract
Chelsea is moving forward with a movement for Mike Maignan with AC Milan willing to punish an exit for the France star with the goalkeeper who starts the last year of his deal.
Maignan, 29, has received a reputation in recent years as one of Europe's best keepers and established himself as a first choice for both club and country. However, his contract situation has opened the door for a movement with Premier League interest that occurs.
It appeared on Tuesday that Chelsea was interested in a deal for the former Paris Saint-Germain and Lille Star and that conversations with Milan were already going for a player who was praised as “World Class” in Italy.
Of the two parties, however, it is said that they are somehow apart in their appreciation from Maignan, where Milan wants £ 25 million to renounce their number 1.
Unfortunately for the Italian giants, Sky Sports claims that Chelsea is not willing to meet that figure, since Maignan is in the last year of his contract, which means that there must be work if a deal will be closed.
The blues already have no fewer than five senior keepers in their books. Robert Sanchez ended the season as first-choice after struggle with Filip Jorgensen for the sweater with djordje Petrovic, Mike Penders and Kepa Arrizabalaga also under contract after the summer.
But that did not deter them in order to pursue an opportunity that apparently is too good to reject Maignan to bind his future to Milan.
Already in February the position of Chelsea and Enzo Maresca was that they would not focus on a new goalkeeper this summer, partly because of a confidence that Jorgensen has a great potential.

Neither is he not really convinced, however, in their matches between the posts for Chelsea this year despite a successful season for Maresca and Co, who qualified for the Champions League and the Europa Conference League final.
The arrival of Maignan would activate a re -effect – and victims – in the goalkeeper department. The Guardian was claimed this week that Sanchez and Petrovic belonged to the 14 players who would be willing to load the club this summer.
Noni Madueke and Joao Felix are two other controversial stars that can be sold, while the Blues Jadon Sancho will not permanently sign.
