Arsenal follows both Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, so Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta have to make a big decision with regard to which player to strive most this summer
Arsenal is said to investigate the framework of deals for both Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko, while this summer they want to bring one of the strikers to the Emirates Stadium.
Although the transfer window has been temporarily open since Sunday, there is still uncertainty about which of the two attackers the Gunners will really push to sign. Arsenal's new sports director Andrea Berta has had conversations with the representatives of Gyokeres and reportedly to Sesko, while he wants to protect a much -needed goal scorer for Mikel Arteta.
Sesko is fresh from the back of his best Bundesliga campaign to date, where he scored 21 goals in all competitions. In the meantime, Gyokeres enjoyed an extraordinary season in which he yielded 54 goals for Sporting CP on his way to lifting a domestic double, which means that both options would improve the Gunners dramatically.
Now Sami Mokbel from BBC Sport has added the confusion about which player the Noord -Londers give priorities by saying that the club fully determines the financial frameworks of deals for both players before they make a definitive decision to sign.
The report pointed out that Sesko can be the preferred choice from a football point of view, which states that a movement has a movement for the Slovenian “near-universal support” in Arsenal. Sesko is the younger striker at 22 and plays in a stronger competition, according to their recruitment data.
But it was also emphasized that Sesko would be the more expensive deal, which may cost up to £ 93 million.
Gyokeres, 27, is the more economic option on around £ 60 million. His cheaper price drawer would perhaps be the determining factor for Arsenal.
Sesko, who rejected a move to Arsenal last summer, was watched by Arteta earlier this year long before the arrival of Berta as sports director. It is understood that RB Leipzig is looking for him during this window to generate a number of crucial income.
In the meantime, Gyokers' refusal to exclude a move to North Londs, that there can be some interest from the player in a return to English football, which previously played for both Brighton and Coventry City.
In a recent Cameo appearance on the FlymodenPod -Podcast, the Swede was asked by host Bernt Hulsker: “Where are you going in the summer transfer window? Can you give us a hint? Is it arsenal? What are the alternatives?”
Gyokees chuckled before he answered: “We'll see. Nobody knows anything else. I wish I had a nicer answer, but that's all I can say now.”
Later in the conversation, while he said goodbye to his former teammate, Leo Ostigard then added with a touch of joke: “Viktor! Talk great to you. To talk quickly, and text me when everything is signed and resolved in Arsenal.” Gyokees joked: “Yes, yes for sure.”
Last month Gyokeres was asked by the media if he liked London as a destination during an interview after the game. He ignored the question and, instead, shared his admiration for the Portuguese capital.
If Arteta and Berta choose Sesko, they have to move quickly to secure Gyokeres, with reports in Portugal who claim that they might have competition from Atletico Madrid for the sporting man's signature.
