Manchester City keeps an eye on RB Leipzig and is aware of midfielder Xavi Simons (22) in case their pursuit of Lyon's Rayan Cherki (21) would fail, according to a report from L'Equipe. The loan from the Dutch international to the Red Bull ownership Bundesliga side is permanently made when PSG sanctioned a transfer costs of € 50 million last winter, without taking into account performance-related add-ons. Leipzig has not been eligible for European football the following season and Simons is expected to leave Leipzig this summer.
L'Equipe understands that Manchester City belongs to the vovers of Simons. However, the citizens are already trying to attack Lyon -attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki. The French International has reportedly not yet given his agreement during a move to the Etihad Stadium, although it seems that City has recently performed their pursuit. Van Cherki and City are said that they are close to reaching a contractual agreement, which does not mean that Cherki has decided to join Manchester City without listening to the proposals from other clubs. Manchester City is expected to submit an offer in the Ligue 1 side soon.
