Manchester United is looking for a replacement for Andre Onana, with Red Devils Chiefs who are now looking at a movement for Aston Villas World Cup winner EMI Martinez
Manchester United has been in contact with Aston Villa Keeper Emi Martinez in the last six months, because they are considering signing a replacement for Andre Onana. Martinez played in the lead role for Aston Villa since he was on Arsenal five years ago.
He played a key role when they reached the quarter -finals of the Champions League this season, before they secured the European qualification for a third consecutive year. The 32-year-old also won the World Cup with Argentina during his time in Villa Park.
But it seems increasingly likely that he will leave the second city this summer. Villas fail to qualify for the Champions League means that a large sale is needed to meet the profit and sustainability rules.
Martinez seems to be an excellent candidate to continue, with Villa who sees a movement for Joan Garcia van Espanyol. The Argentinian is strongly connected to a transfer to a Saudi Arabia club.
But his status as one of the best keepers of the Premier League will also attract the interest of large teams in Europe. United seems to be one of them in the midst of the terrible form of Onana just disappeared in the season.

Villa Baas Unai Emery has meanwhile hinted that Martinez will be on the road this summer. The Spaniard refused to confirm that the Argentinian would remain in the Midlands.
