Amanda Nunes wrote history in the UFC Apex before Pena Rivalry was set up

Before her rivalry started with Pena, 'The Lioness' ran by everyone who was placed in front of her. After beating Cris Cyborg on UFC 232, Nunes joined Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier in an elite group of hunters who have won a UFC title in two weight classes.

The Brazilian, however, went one step further when she made UFC history at UFC 250 and became the first hunter to defend a title in two separate weight classes.

Originally UFC 250 was planned in Brazil, but due to the COVID-19 Pandemie the event was moved to take place in the UFC Apex.

Nunes was matched against former Invicta champion, Felicia Spencer, who at the time was a questionable opponent.

Just like many of her fights before, 'The Lioness' bullied spencer during the entire fight, sailed to a unanimous decision victory, making UFC history for an empty top.

After the fight, Nunes controversed her belt on Spencer's shoulder in what she thought was a respectful gesture, but the fans thought differently.

Joe Rogan expressed his concern about the future of Amanda Nunes after UFC 250

At that time, 'The Lioness' had cleaned up both the divisions of 135 pounds and 145LB, about which UFC commentator Joe Rogan was worried.

“Nobody ever defended the title in both weight classes, so you have written history tonight as part of this spectacular victory, I am happy that you are happy, but my only care is who is the next one for you?” Asked Rogan.

“I also want the answer, I'm going back home, later I will call Dana White, you know, we are going to have a conversation, see my next step, you know,” Nunes replied.

Nunes then defeated Megan Anderson before he started her historic rivalry against Pena, who still has to reach its peak.
