UFC 316 rule change bans recently legalized strike from use during Merab Dvalishvili vs Sean O’Malley 2 card

UFC 316 works under a slightly different rule that is set on Saturday evening.

A Bantamweight title Rematch between Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O'Malley will head when MMA's most important promotion returns to Newark, New Jersey this weekend.

The location of the event means that another committee will supervise the latest UFC-Pay-per-View show.

It has now been revealed that the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board will not use the uniform rules of MMA.

UFC 316 Rule change BANS 12-TOT-6 Ellebogen

Footstersps were blocked bizarre when a last-minute change in line hit UFC 315 in May.

This time the committee simply returned to the rules that were in force before November 2024, whereby 12-to-6 elbows were legalized in addition to a change in the definition of a well-founded hunter.

“For UFC 316, the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board did not accept the uniform rules of MMA, the combat sports journalist Aaron Bronsteter Tweete Friday.

“Fighters with one hand or two hands on the mat are considered to be grounded opponents and 12-to-6 elbows will be illegal.”

Fans respond to UFC 316 rule change

Unfortunate UFC fans were fast to give their opinion under the X -post of Brutsteter.

“What LMAO how is that logical,” a fan asked. While another called the movement: “Utter woke up nonsense.”

“Sigh,” a third depressed X user noticed.

“Not ideal,” someone else said.

“Not suitable about how there are different rules for each state. Do not happen in other sports,” wrote a confused person.

“This must be a joke,” called a sixth fan.
