Amanda Nunes was a huge favorite in her governments of the UFC title.
The former two-division UFC champion is strongly considered the greatest female hunter of all time with victories over every UFC champion of every ladies on 135 pounds and higher. Nunes also has two wins over the current pound-for-pound queen and flying weight champion Valentina Shevchenko.
Nunes retired, Nunes confirmed earlier this year that she would come back against the winner of the next Bantamweight title fight between Julianna Peña and Kayla Harrison on UFC 316 this Saturday.
Peña is a former enemy of Nunes, who defeated 'The Lioness' in a huge upset in 2021. Nunes rubbed a loss of submission to Pena with a five -round that bought in their rematch the following year.
Nunes still has to fight against the former Olympic gold medal winner and PFL champion Harrison, an ex-teammate at the American top team.
Despite the early greatness of Nunes in the Bantamweight and Vederweight Divisions, a former two-part champion does not like her chances in a comeback fight against the winner of Peña vs. Harrison.

Daniel Cormier expects Amanda Nunes to be an underdog against Julianna Pena or Kayla Harrison: “She didn't do it”
When she was a champion, Nunes once stood as a favorite of -1250 to beat Peña in their first fight and a favorite of -1000 in the fight against Megan Anderson.
In 2025, Daniel Cormier says that he does not expect Nunes to prefer a fight against the winner of the next title fight between Peña and Harrison.
'[Chael Sonnen] Said something that makes sense, “Cormier told Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
'He's going, you don't get any better at something by not doing it …
“Amanda didn't do it. Probably two years now she didn't do it.
“We love because it is her name. But what do we base our expectation? What we have seen before? She didn't do it.
“These two did it,” said Cormier about Peña and Harrison.
“When Amanda returns – I would expect the winner to be preferred about her because she did it again.”
Daniel Cormier says that Julianna Pena is angry with the Underdog status on UFC 316
In anticipation of UFC 316, Pena is a 6-on-1 underdog against Harrison on some sports books. Peña has previously overcome similar opportunities when she submitted Nunes at UFC 269 in what the best performance of her career was.
Apparently Peñaa is not so happy to be a heavy underdog at UFC 316.
“Julianna's is crazy,” Cormier said about the champion.
“She doesn't feel respected.
“She said she is a 6-on-1 dog and that makes her angry.
“She wants to go outside and show Kayla Harrison a different level of mixed martial arts,” said Cormier.
