Brentford -head coach Thomas Frank is the leading competition that becomes the next Tottenham -Baas, Sky Sports News understands.
Traces are expected to find an appointment quickly after they have fired Ange Postecoglou on Friday evening.
Frank is the leader who follows the Australian, but negotiations still have to take place with Brentford about the DANE, who has a release clause in his contract.
An approach from Spurs is expected, but it has not yet come.
The 51-year-old has been in charge of Brentford since October 2018 and led the West London Club to the Premier League in 2021.
Since promotion, Frank Brentford has founded as a Premier League club. They finished 13th, 9th, 16th and 10th in their four seasons in the top flight, and last season they were contrary to a European place.
Along the way he took every big club's head at least once, in which he defeated the bitter rivals Arsenal of Spurs in his first game in the top flight and Chelsea was gone before the season was ready.
The bees have beaten Manchester United in their opening match of the following season and won away in Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham.
Frank has previously worked with Tottenham's technical director Johan Lange and was in the mix for the Aston Villa Job while Lange was in Villa Park. They worked together on the Danish side Lyngby.
Tottenham's interest in Frank comes after working with Spurs Technical Director Johan Lange on the Danish side Lyngby.
Frank was also one of the names that Manchester United considered before she held up with Erik ten Hag in the summer of 2024 and then eventually fired him to appoint Ruben Amorim.
In August with Sky Sports about Man Utd's interest about his future: “Maybe things will happen. I said the whole time that I am very happy here. If something new will happen, then I have to look at it and then I have to make a decision about it, but now I am just happy here.
“The interesting thing is that I may have one of the best football jobs in the world. I mean that because the working environment is so good. It's such a good owner, it's such a good club.”
“That's the thing, I would like to try something in the future? Maybe, but it's not like I have to try something bigger or better, because what is better? Who knows?”
Silva and Iraola also looked through Spurs
Frank is not the only candidate in the race to follow Postcoglou.
Other managers in Tottenham admired his Fulham boss Marco Silva and Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola.
Silva had fought Fulham last season for a European place when they finished 11th – a place under Frank's Brentford.
The Cottagers also reached the last eight of the FA Cup for a second year in a row.
In the meantime, Iraola has made an impression in Bournemouth after obtaining a record points in the top flight for the Cherries when they finished ninth – a place above Frank's Brentford.
Bournemouth was the same as their best victories in the Premier League in a striking style under the Spaniard, which led them to the FA Cup quarterfinals last season.
'Tactically flexible franc would be an exceptional appointment'
Sky Sports News' main reporter Kaveh Solhekol:
“The only care about Thomas Frank, he is not managed as a club as big as Tottenham and he is not managed in the Champions League either.
“What is really attractive about him is the fact that he is tactically flexible. He is not stubborn, he is not married to just one way of playing, and he did fantastic at Brentford.
“The people in Brentford would be prepared for his exit because he is recently on the shortlist of so many big clubs.
“I know he was on the shortlist for the Chelseabaan last summer. He is someone who is highly regarded.
“I think he would be an exceptional appointment, but Marco Silva would do that too. He has Champions League experience from his time in Greece with Olympiakos.
“I don't want to upset Crystal Palace fans, but when I was on the Tottenham board, I would have noticed that the incredible job that Oliver Glasner did in Crystal Palace.
“He won the FA Cup and he won the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt.”
'Very remarkable if Frank has been appointed'
Michael Bridge from Sky Sports News op Tottenham Training Ground:
“Thomas Frank – such as Postecoglou – is a very fascinating character.
“There is a lot of admiration for him here at Spurs, but he has no European or Europa League experience. He will be a Champions League manager as Spurs decides to name him.
“And one of his first games would be the UEFA Super Cup – so he could bring in a trophy against PSG at the beginning of August.
“It would be quite remarkable if it is Thomas Frank.”
What do Spurs -Fans of Frank think?
Spursfan and Podcaster Chris Cowlin on Sky Sports News: “Who is coming in now and do it better? If Thomas Frank came in, there would be no Champions League experience interesting. But he has done very, very well in the Premier League with limited sources. He has always developed players, very friendly in the media in the media” “
ASH16: It is the right decision, and although Frank would be great for the competition, I think Spurs should concentrate on Edin Terzic. The former Borussia Dortmund boss has the experience in Europe that we would need. The problem is, does Terzic want the job?
Archietash: How is Thomas Frank a movement in the right direction? What did he win?
J Deel: Why Sack Ange when he won silverware? If so, a winner must be used, not managers such as Thomas Frank – ridiculous.
Joshuac: How is this a step in the right direction? Why not before, when ex-internal milania Simone Inzaghi was free for negotiations?
