Dana White again skipped a large UFC 316 Fight Week event because he was absent for ceremonial weightings tonight.
UFC CEO White has been noticeably absent throughout the week and opts for the press conference last night and then avoids the ceremonial weightings in Prudential Center. Fans speculate why he was not present to supervise the last face-off between Sean O'Malley and Merab Dvalishvili.
The few event missions follows the absence of White on the UFC 315 after the press conference after the fight. He was also ready to increase the Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford Boxing Promotional effort, but now seems to be of that plan.
Dana White skips UFC 316 weightings as the absence of Vechtweek continues
Although the standard rate is for Dana White to miss the press conference before the fight prior to a large UFC-Pay-per-view, it is very rare that he is absent for ceremonial weightings. Joe Rogan organizes Proceedings, and White stands between hunters while they come across.
It has been eight Pay-per-View events since White missed UFC 308 in October last year at UFC 308. That event took place in Abu Dhabi, a considerable distance from Las Vegas where White is based in the United States.
His absence is the newest in a series of missed performances in the midst of an assumed feud with Boks Supremo Turki Alalshikh. He would be the main promoter for Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford and even flew to New York for Netflix in advance, but that deal seems to have been soured now.
There will probably also be the interest of the regular media in the view of the political spit of White between Donald Trump and Elon Musk, both regulars at UFC events. The president is expected to attend tomorrow night's event in Newark.
Fans fear that Dana White 'stopping' the UFC
The absence of Dana White disturbed fans, who believe that his always irregular appearances are signs of a man who has been checked out of his work. He still regularly places online about the promotion, but now has a number of other business interests, including an energy drink and power.
When it became clear on X that he would not attend today, fans wrote messages such as “Dana White has silent with the UFC”, in response.
Another added: “He does not care about this company before and it is obvious, of the matchmaking -choices, the lack of promotion, and now he doesn't even appear for a pay per view.”
One fan also made his frustrations known, write that “UFC fighting weeks do not feel the same, Dana does not give if -, the promotion is wack, there is 0 energy in the press and weigh ins, these media questions are f and scary. This company is bad.”
