Dana White didn’t want to sign UFC 316 star but now he plans to make UFC history

When Kevin Holland made his appearance on the Contender Series of Dana White, he annoyed the UFC boss to the point that he did not want to sign him at the promotion.

The UFC returns to Newark, New Jersey for UFC 316 in the coming Saturday, while Sean O'Malley is looking for redemption in the main event about Merab Dvalishvili in the main event.

The Bantamweight title of the ladies will be at stake in the Co-Main event, because Julianna Pena finally wants to arrange her long-term feud with Kayla Harrison, who is impressed since her UFC debut on UFC 300 in April.

On the Blockbuster Undercard, fan favorite 'Big Mouth', Kevin Holland returns to action when he takes it against Vicente Luque.

Dana White did not want to sign Kevin Holland after winning

'The Trailblazer' first showed his skills at the UFC fans when he appeared in 2018 about the Contender Series of Dana White.

Holland then scored a unanimous decision victory against Will Santiago, but frustrated the UFC boss Dana White because of the waste that his opponent spoke throughout the fight.

Because of the antics of Holland during the fight, White sicked him and did not offer him a contract despite gaining the victory.

A few months later, however, 'The Trailblazer' was offered a late notification by the UFC to compete against Thiago Santos. Although he was beaten by the Brazilian, the eccentric Holland impressed White.

“Holland (impressed by me). So for those of you who don't know the story, he was in the Contender series and he was a talented man and he won his fight, but he would not keep his mouth shut,” White said in the UFC 227 Post-Fight Press Conference.

“The whole fight he talked to me, the whole fight. Now, everyone who has been to the Contender series, it is straight killers, everyone comes in that building (to win) … This guy comes in and talks about – the whole fight. So I said:” I don't sign this guy, I don't want him, I don't want to tell the story.

Kevin Holland wants to make UFC history after UFC 316

In 2020, Holland was the same as the record for most UFC fights in one calendar year with five, with all five trips won.

This year, however, Holland wants to go better and break the record by making six performances under the UFC banner, who has already participated twice this year, with his fight against Luque planned to be his third.

“By the end of the year I think I will at least hit five or six battles before the year is over. We are already realistic at three, two more easy than hell, three more is idealistic what I would do, but it just means that I would have a very busy year and that means that next year would probably not be so busy,” said Holland during UFC 316 Media Day.
