French Captain Kylian Mbappe was confronted with questions about the Triumph Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League triumph when he met the media on the eve of the play-off of the third place of the UEFA Nations League against Germany.
Mbappe left PSG to become a member of Real Madrid last summer and ended his seven -year stay in Paris.
He yielded 256 goals in 308 games for PSG and became the top scorer of the club of all time. He also helped with the delivery of 15 trophies to the Parc des Princes, but was unable to achieve European success.
Part of the motivation behind his move to Madrid was the conviction that it would improve his chances of winning the Champions League – with real that he had conquered Europe 15 times a record.
Mbappe's first shot at Euro Glory with Los Blancos, however, ended in a 5-1 quarter-final defeat by Arsenal.
PSG then defeated Arsenal in the semi -final, before he hit Inter Milan in the final of last weekend in Munich.
During Saturday's press conference, Mbappe stated that he might have made a mistake by leaving PSG a little too early.
But the 26-year-old hit back: 'I didn't leave too quickly; My story with PSG was over.
“I am not bitter; I had reached the end of the road. I tried everything, and it was the fate that meant it had to happen without me.
'PSG who wins the Champions League without me has no influence on me. I was happy. I think they deserved it. '
Mbappe was on the score sheet on Thursday evening when France fell an exciting 5-4 defeat of Spain in the semi-final of their Nations League.
Spain will now be confronted with Portugal in Sunday after Cristiano Ronaldo and Co have overcome Germany 2-1 on Wednesday.
The final will take place in the Allianz Arena in Munich – who also organized PSG's victory over Inter last weekend – after the competition for third place was played in Stuttgart.
