World Cup fellow Gastheren Mexico were beaten 4-2 on Saturday by Switzerland in a friendly in the Rice-Eccles Stadium, leaving coach Aguirre far from Happy.
El Tri faced the Swiss as part of their warming for this month's Concacaf Gold Cup, but their weaknesses were exposed by the Murat Yakin team.
“If you give four goals, you have to hang your head and go home to train,” said Aguirre,
“We have made many mistakes, both collective and individually, and when you do that against teams of this caliber, you will be punished,” he added.
Switzerland took the lead in the 20th minute when Ricardo Rodriguez sent a deep pass to Breel Embolo, who shot goalkeeper Raul Rangel.
Swiss keeper Gregor Kobel denied Mexico in the 29th minute when he blocked a pointed white shot for Santiago Gimenez with his chest.
Vincent Sierro reached the bar for Mexico in the 34th minute, while Rangel on the other side did well to keep a dangerous shot from Silvan Widmer.
Gimenez brought Mexico level header with a 51st minute, but the Swiss restored their benefits 13 minutes later with Zeki Amdouni she went home up close.
Dan Ndoye made it 3-1 to shoot home from a tight corner after he was well set up by Fabian Rieder, but Mexico gave himself some hope when Angel Sepulveda Foud was defeated by Alexis Vega and Kobel with an excellent, first shot.
But while Mexico pushed forward in search of an equalizer, the Swiss touched them on the break with Rieder and gave the finish an agile chip of the edge of the box.
Mexico will be confronted on Tuesday with Turkey in North Carolina, while Switzerland is opposite the US in Nashville.
