Alexander Volkanovski brutally educates Jon Jones on the ‘responsibility’ of a UFC champion

Even the UFC colleagues from Jon Jones seem to lose patience with the heavyweight champion.

Jones has occupied the heavyweight throne for more than two years, but the most recent months of his regime have accused the resident of Rochester of keeping the title Gijzelaar.

Since he put Stipe Miocic in his only defense last November last November, Jones has rejected the calls to fight Tom Aspinall, who has been tied to interim gold for 19 months.

Instead, the goat candidate has often suggested retirement. But the lack of a confirmed decision has made many in the community angry, almost 200,000 have signed a petition in which the UFC is called to strip Jones.

And fans are not the only ones who have a critical view of Jones's attitude.

Alexander Volkanovski tells Jon Jones 'Retire' if he will not do what a UFC champion should

During a recent performance on the overogs -podcast with Mike Perry, UFC Vederweight champion Alexander Volkanovski gave his assessment of the situation in heavyweight.

'Alexander the Great' believes an incredibly active title holder during his first stint on the throne of 145 pounds and believes that champions have a 'responsibility' to defend their belts-especially with the presence of an interim counterpart.

That, says Volkanovski, is a requirement that Jones does not suffice.

“If you are the champion, you defend your belt – it's a responsibility,” said Volkanovski. 'You can't just sit outside.

“You have to be reasonably active. You have to fight who is there. If you have an interim champion, that's a no-brainer.

“I don't want to throw a lot of shade, but look, I know he has proven himself, everyone is:” Look what he did, it's fine. ” No, not really.

“Don't stop the division. I know your CV is incredible. You are considered the greatest of all time,” Volkanovski added. “So if you don't want to fight, you're just retired, you're ready.”

Jon Jones responds to Dana White and claims that he 'accepted' Tom Aspinall fight

Despite the growing frustration of fans, hunters and analysts, Jones does not seem Fazed.

The former light heavyweight king has often laughed at the criticism and evokes that he is being stripped by the UFC while responding in Tirades on social media.

And his most recent comments against Bloody Elbow while in Miami for the second event of the Dirty Boxing Championship suggests that nothing has changed.

UFC CEO Dana White claimed that Jones accepted the Aspinall fight. When asked about this, however, the heavyweight champion seemed surprised and asked, “Is that what he said?”
