Getafe have one of the most solid defenses in La Liga, but are still in 17th place, just outside the relegation zone. Los Azulones have struggled for goals this season and manager Jose Bordalas has repeatedly expressed his frustration at the lack of options in his squad.
President Angel Torres seems reluctant to spend a lot in January and will therefore look for cheaper options. Superdeporte says it is interested in Tottenham Hotspur's Sergio Reguilon. The ex-Sevilla and Real Madrid left-back is yet to play this season and a loan move could be on the cards in January before his contract expires in the summer.
The same outlet also notes that Getafe could also move for former striker Enes Unal. Since his €16.5 million move to Bournemouth, Unal has struggled under Andoni Iraola. He has made just ten Premier League appearances this season, including just 172 minutes. He could leave on loan, and the Turkish striker was lethal for two seasons between 2021 and 2023.
Borja Mayoral's ongoing injury problems have robbed Bordalas of their main source of goals, with Bertug Yildirim and Alvaro Rodriguez struggling to make the grade so far. Mayoral will be back to full fitness soon, but what form it will be in will be difficult to say as he has been largely sidelined since March. So far this season, Getafe have scored just ten goals in fifteen La Liga games.
