Tel makes Tottenham move permanent as Frank’s first signing

Mathys Tel has completed a permanent move to Tottenham and became the first signing of Thomas Frank in the club.

He has put pen on paper about a six-year-old deal to keep him in North London until June 2031 for a reported fee of £ 29.8 million.

Tel was originally signed on loan in January, with a view to a permanent deal under former boss Ange Postecoglou.

Van Frank would have given the deal his approval, where Spurs made the move permanent, as Postecoglou intended.

Tel appeared 20 games in all matches for Spurs in 2024-25, scored three goals and registered one assist.

He also created 20 chances for the team, with six of them classified as 'large', although he only collected 1.5 expected assists (XA).

With goals against Southampton and Wolves in April, Tel only became the fifth teenager who scored in back-to-back Premier League performances for Tottenham and the first since parte Alli in February 2016.
