Dana White called out UFC heavyweight legend for his unprofessional appearance following disappointing loss

Dana White has absolutely flamed UFC legend Roy Nelson after his UFC 161 loss to Miocic to Stipe.

When Roy Nelson came up in the first promotion after his success at the Ultimate Fighter, fans immediately went to him because he painted the opposite image of what you would expect from a UFC hunter.

'Big Country' Nelson consistently wore 265 pounds near the heavyweight limit and pulled an iconic image of a large belly and a long mul, accompanied by an equally long beard.

And after a few impressive victories over people like Matt Mitrione and Cheick Congo, Nelson was matched against Stipe Miocic on 15 June 2013 in a big heavyweight fight.

Dana White Flame Roy Nelson after his loss against Miocic

After a loss for Stefan Struve, Miocic was hopefully returned to the profit column against the Fan's favorite, who rode a three-fight win reak.

As usual, early in the fight 'Big Country', one of his enormous trading seemed to land, in an attempt to release Stipe's lights, but Miocic turned out to be too skilled and elusive for Nelson.

After the fight, UFC boss Dana White used the loss of Nelson as an excuse to completely flame the heavyweight and call it for his unprofessional appearance.

“It doesn't have to be

“I said:” What about cutting your hair, losing weight and lost the staling song, “I'm fat”, and take yourself seriously. “I saw him at the next press conference, his mul was longer and he grew a beard to here and he was perhaps 6 pounds less than the last time I had seen him.

“Who wants to put their logo on it? Nobody wants to put their logo on it. Burger King, well what he thought, have you ever looked at a commercial of Burger King? These are all handsome guys, lean and beautiful girls, you think Burger King wants you to see you seeing Burger King?

Nelson signed a new contract with the UFC before he left for rival promotion

Fortunately, Nelson and the UFC have discovered their differences and signed a new contract with the promotion, who fights under the UFC banner for four years.

In 2017, 'Big Country' left the promotion and signed at Bellator where he won only one of the six fights.

And then in 2023 Nelson made a controversial comeback when he drew to fight Dillon Checkler in Jorge Masvidal's bald knuckle promotion and scored a first round KO.

He then bumped with colleague -legend Alan Belcher later that year and lost a split decision.
