Bayern star makes feelings clear on Liverpool signing Wirtz – ‘Ask the club’

Joshua Kimmich did not bump when he was asked about Bayern Munich's transfer needs this summer after Florian Wirtz chose to become a member of Liverpool instead of Bundesliga champions

Joshua Kimmich has claimed that Bayern Munich is now light in attack after the club in the race in the race was lost to sign the Germany star Florian Wirtz.

And midfielder Kimmich claimed that he was surprised by Leroy Sane's decision to leave the Bundesliga champions for Galatasaray, while the departure of Thomas Muller also hurts them in the last third part.

Bayern Face Auckland City in their group C opener on the controversial club World Cup on Sunday afternoon and asked Wirtz, who completed a British record switch to Anfield to Anfield in the coming days, Kimmich did not bump.

“You will have to ask the club what their plans are,” he said. “Of course you feel that we could do something – with Flo (Wirtz) who doesn't come, with Leroy who leaves, with Thomas who leaves.

“I was surprised that (Sane) is going to Turkey. I did not expect that. But it is his decision and he will have his reasons for it.”

Kimmich's comments follow sports director Max Eberl and admits that the Bavarians would not have been able to match the compensation paid by Liverpool for “Outstanding” Wirtz.

But Eberl insisted that there is a clear strategy this summer and the free agent of Tom Bischof and Jonathan Tah are a step in the right direction.

Eberl said: “I am sure we will have a competitive team – and that we also have the finances under control. If I am honest, I don't know if we can pay what Liverpool apparently now pay now.

“Florian Wirtz is an excellent player. We could have imagined that he signed it. But when a door closes, another opens another. The focus is on the team we have here. We have taken a number of young players, and now we have added two Germany internationals in Tom Bischof and Jonathan Tah, who have come on free transfers. That is a big.

“We have a clear plan about how we want to implement things. But there is still a lot to do. I am sure we will have a very strong team.”
