Arsenal is looking for a new striker prior to the 2025-26 campaign and it seems that they have again fueled their interest in Ollie Watkins after a failed swoop in January
Ollie Watkins has made no secret of his love for Arsenal – and it now seems as if the Gunners will make a new attempt to sign the English striker after he did not do this in January.
Arsenal will finally add a new No. 9 to their team in the summer transfer window After having drawn a blank in their pursuit of Watkins, 29, in January. However, a second move for the Aston Villa man was not thought to be on the cards.
While Watkins was the subject of a study late in the January window, it was thought that Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko were of Arsenal's best striker goals this summer.
But a new report from Record suggests that Watkins actually came back into the picture with a movement for Gyokees Now on Ice.
The Portuguese outlet claims that Arsenal is firm on Gyokeres because of the asking price of Sporting Lisbon. It is said that the Gunners have rejected two bids, the last one worth £ 60 million, where sport requires more for their star stitch.
With the hierarchy of Arsenal who gets tired of the Saga, the report adds that they are now exploring deals for Sesko or Watkins, both of which would be cheaper to sign.
As an Arsenelan, a movement to the Emirates can be difficult for Watkins to resist. He spoke in March 2020 during the London Football Awards, he admitted that playing for his boy's club in the future would be “the dream”.
“I am a fan of Arsenal and Thierry Henry was incredible to watch, he was growing up my idol,” said the versatile attacker.

He added: “That is the dream of playing for Arsenal. It's a long recording. It is only because my family supports them and things like that, but that is the long -term dream.”
Instead, Aston Villa has sanctioned a £ 70 million deal with Al-Nassr for Jhon Duran, who left Villa Park to complete a move to the Saudi Pro League outfit. However, the Colombia International can only be back to the Premier League a few months later with a loan movement.
Arsenal is also looking for a left -sided forward and a back -up goalkeeper with Kepa Arrizabalaga – available for just £ 5 million – a target. A deal for the real Sociedad playmaker, Martin Zubimendi, is also in an advanced stage.
