Fifa Club World Cup 2025 draw in full as Chelsea get shock reunion with cult hero while Man City face European giants

CHELSEA scored a big hit at the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup, including a reunion with the club's cult hero.

The revamped tournament will now be contested using a similar format to the World Cup – which will be held in America from June 15 to July 13 next year and will feature 32 of the world's best teams.

It all started with a glitzy group stage draw from Miami, featuring a host of global football legends, and hosted in part by Italian beauty and former Premier League Wag, Diletta Leotta.

Each country has a limited number of participants in the tournament, with the Blues and Manchester City taking the places ahead of England as the two most recent winners of the Champions League.

Chelsea finished in Group D, along with Brazil's Flamengo, Mexico's Club Leon and Tunisia's Esperance de Tunis.

And that is likely to mean a shock clash against Blues title winner David Luiz, who is still playing for the Brazilians at the age of 37.

City, meanwhile, will face Italian giants Juventus, Moroccan side Wydad AC and UAE's Al Ain.

Jude Bellingham's Real Madrid will play against Saudi champions Al Hilal, Austria's RB Salzburg and Mexico's Pachuca.

Harry Kane's Bayern Munich will take on Benfica, Boca Juniors and Aukland City in Group C.

Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger was on hand to help pick the teams, but only after having to do an awkward dad dance.

US President Donald Trump's eight-year-old grandson, Theo, also helped sort out the draw with the politician's daughter, Ivanka.

There was even a message from President Trump calling FIFA President Gianni Infantino “Jonny.”

Trump said: “The event is going to be unbelievable. I'll try to be there if I can, we'll see what happens.

“But I just want to say you're led by a man called Jonny, I just know him as Jonny and he's a winner and he's the president and I'm the president.

“We have known each other for a long time and I am so honored to have such a relationship because football is going through the roof, as everyone knows.

“Things are going so fantastically well, my son Baron is a great football fan, he's actually a good player – I don't think that good, but he's a very good player.

“But he loves football and it's really taking over the United States as a sport, and I congratulate everyone.

“But in particular, I also wish you a good time and I would like to convey my highest regards and respect to Johnny.

“It was an honor to be with you and it will be very soon. We will also soon be watching the World Cup very important.

“I was very responsible with Johnny in getting it and it's going to be something fantastic.”

In the new Club World Cup format, teams are divided into eight groups of four and play each other once.

The top two teams in each group then advance to the knockout stages.

The last 16 is the first single knockout round, followed by the quarter-final, semi-final and then the final.

Details of how fans can watch the Club World Cup emerged earlier this week, with DAZN picking up the rights.
