Manchester United is ready for a huge summer in the transfer market and they have already completed the signing of Wolves -star Matheus Cunha, with many more deals that are expected to be done in the coming months
Manchester United has a lot of work to do this summer because they look back from a bad campaign under Ruben Amorim. United underwent their worst ever Premier League season when they finished 15th and also lost 1-0 to Tottenham in the Europa League final.
The Red Devils have already strengthened their team with the signing of Matheus Cunha van Wolves, while the will of Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans left the club after their contracts have expired.
Much more income and expenses are expected this summer, with Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia who probably leave the club. With that in mind, Mirror Football has taken a look at some of the latest news and rumors from Old Trafford …
Martinez makes a decision
According to ESPN Argentina, United has opened conversations with Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez about a possible move to Old Trafford.
Martinez is expected to leave Villa this summer and it is claimed that he would rather become a member of United, because he is also connected to Galatasaray and teams in the Saudi Pro League. The World Cup winner could replace Andre Onana as the first-choice keeper of United.
Onana has made a series of mistakes since he came to the club and recently talked about rumors about his future. During an event in Burkina Faso, Onana said to Afrik-Foot: “Shall I leave? I don't know, we'll see!”
Osimhen Talks opened
Victor Osimhen seems that Napoli is leaving this summer and reports Footmercato that United has resumed conversations with the striker after he has rejected a move to Al-Hilal.
The report states that Galatasaray remains hopeful that they can convince Osimhen to participate permanently after he had scored 37 goals in 41 games during a loan spell last season, but United could now hijack the move.
Amorim would like to add more firepower to his team after Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee disappointed last season, whereby the couple manages only 17 goals in a combined 105 performances in all competitions.
Leverkusen Eye Man Utd Target
United is linked to a relocation for the younger James Mcatee from Manchester City, but Bayer Leverkusen has now emerged as a potential destination for the midfielder.
According to Sky Germany, McATee has been identified as an option to replace Florian Wirtz while he is about to join Liverpool. And Stadsbaas Pep Guardiola has admitted that the club might be forced to sell McATEE, so that the 22-year-old can play regularly.
“Before age I would like him to stay,” Guardiola said in April. “But I understand that players want more minutes. He can play different positions, but I don't know what the team will be like and we'll see.”
