Man United Academy produced Angel Gomes that players had difficulty tackling the 'weight of the shirt' at the Premier League Giants before they go on to thrive elsewhere.
The International of England joined the Red Devils at the age of six and debuted at the age of 16 in 2017 and became the youngest player who represents the club since Duncan Edwards in 1953.
Gomes eventually made 10 performances for the Senior Team of Man United before choosing to join Lille to a free transfer in 2020.
The midfielder, who agreed this summer to join Marseille, thrive in Ligue 1 and earned four England caps last year under the then interim manager Lee Carsley.
Gomes is one of the players who have been impressed since she granted Man United in recent years, with several about the continent after being criticized for their displays at Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old, who spoke to the BBC, suggested that some players underestimated the 'weight of the shirt'.
Gomes claimed that some players may be 'intimidated' by playing for Man United and have difficulty getting the expectations of playing for the record 13-way Premier League champions, because they want to win the title for the first time since 2012.
“I think some people do that,” said Gomes. ” -Players may be intimidated or not really knowing about the weight, what it wears and what is needed.
'But in the end it is sometimes up to the environment, the timing and having the right things to help you.
'Some players who left and did it better than when they were at United can be things in that particular club at that time that have helped them at that time.
“Sometimes it is not as black and white as they failed or they have not kept their own because of the weight of the shirt.”
Gomes comments come after several malignant man United players have left the club to enjoy success elsewhere this season.
Scott McTominay, another man United Youth product, was named Serie A's most valuable player this season.
McTominay came to Napoli last summer in a 27.5 million movement, with the Scotland International that contributes 12 goals and six assists from midfield to help Antonio Conte's side claim the title.
The Brazilian winger Antony has been mocked for his versions at Man United since an £ 82 million switch from Ajax, with only 12 goals and five assists in 96 matches.
The winger was revitalized after he had joined Real Betis in January, where the Brazilian scored nine times and delivered five assists.
Antony's reversal in La Liga has led him to earn a recall from the Brazilian national team.
He admitted last month that he had become out of love with football at Man United.
“I wanted to do things, but they didn't seem to come because I wasn't happy, I didn't feel that desire to play football, and I had to find myself and be happy again because football was always something I loved,” Antony said.
'I went through difficult times [at Manchester United] When I no longer felt that pleasure. I have always told my brother, I told him that I could no longer assume.
'[My brother] said that I had to hold a little longer, that things would change. It even made me emotional because they were very tough days in front of me.
'Only I know what it was like to be there, not to have the power to even play with my son, days without eating, stay locked in my room.
“So, for me it was very complicated, but thank goodness, with the help of my family and especially with the help of God, I have succeeded in making progress and today I am very happy here.”
Man United passed their worst Premier League campaign last season, ending the Ruben Amorim 15th side in the table.
The Red Devils will not play in Europe next season after she lost to Tottenham in the Europa League final last month, which abused the qualification of Champions League.
