Arsenal of Manchester City would win the Premier League if they were in charge of Jose Mourinho, says Tony Cascarino.
The Portuguese boss led Chelsea to their first title in five years last season and former Blues striker Cascarino says that Mourinho gives the West -London side the lead in the champion competition.
Since the return to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2013, Mourinho has not lost a match against City, Arsenal or Manchester United-en Cascarino says that the record of the right is the key to each other.
“The difference between Chelsea and their rivals is the manager,” Cascarino told Sky Sports. “I believe that if Mourinho was manager of Arsenal, he had won the competition. Likewise with Man City. That is the quality he brings with him.
“John Terry said that Petr Cech is worth 15 points. Maybe. Mourinho is worth more than that for Chelsea.
“We saw two chelseas in the season. We saw a very entertaining and then, when it became tight, they became tight and did not give it too much. That has to do with the manager.
“How did they win the competition by being tactically brilliant. It is no coincidence that none of their big rivals have been able to beat them in the last two years.
“That is a huge disadvantage for them; he hurts each of his rivals every time they play.”
Cascarino believes that the nearest finishers of Chelsea last season runner-up City, the third placed Arsenal and the fourth placed United States-now have important areas to tackle before they can withdraw the men of Mourinho.
With that in mind, the former Republic of Ireland International Chelsea makes favorites for the Kroon 2015/16.
“Chelsea are the ones to beat,” he said. “Arsenal and City must be tactically better. United is interesting because of the big kitty they have to spend, but they still have to gel the same when they bring in new players.
“All things that other teams have to do – sort their tactics, gel together – Chelsea has already done. Everything they do now is what is united and for that Liverpool used to do: add one or two to a group that was successful to refine it.
“If you want to win the competition next season, you have to beat Chelsea.”
