Real Madrid star unlikely to leave in January despite La Liga interest

Real Madrid are not a team that typically makes transfer activity in the winter, although numerous reports have suggested that at least one signing could be made in the coming window due to the club's crippling injury crisis. If that happens, there could also be an exit, namely that of Jesus Vallejo.

Despite Real Madrid only having two to three fit centre-backs in recent months, Vallejo has seen extremely little action. Carlo Ancelotti is not counting on the 28-year-old and therefore a departure in January is very possible.

However, ED says that's actually unlikely to happen. Rayo Vallecano is the team Vallejo most wants to sign, although they do not believe Real Madrid will make a deal happen in January. Moreover, another reason why the Vallecas side are uneasy about the move is that there are concerns about his lack of match sharpness.

It remains to be seen if Vallejo leaves in January, but even if he doesn't, this season will certainly be his last as a Real Madrid player.
