Milos Kerkez will join Liverpool in the coming days after the Reds have reached a breakthrough in their conversations with Bournemouth, with the Hungary International in line for a bumper contract
Milos Kerkez is touching a relocation of £ 45 million to Liverpool while the busy summer window of the Reds continues. They have already signed Jeremie Frimpong and are closer to his former Bayer Leverkusen teammate Florian Writz.
Frimpong arrives to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, who joined Real Madrid. But the boss Arne Slot also liked to have added a left back to his team this summer to offer better competition for Andy Robertson.
Although he played a key role in two Premier League title profits and the 2019 Champions League win, Robertson's performances have had a recession. His backup is currently Kostas Tsimikas.
But the Greek international has never really convinced that he can be a long -term option. Instead, the Reds will now close a deal for Kerkez, which is impressed by Bournemouth.
Whether Kerkez comes as competition for Robertson or to replace him immediately, can still be seen, with the Scotland captain the subject of increasing interest of Atletico Madrid.
It seems that Liverpool Kerkez certainly sees as a long -term player, in which Inews reports that he will receive a five -year contract. The 21-year-old can also expect a large wage bump by becoming a member of the champions.
Kerkez has made it clear that Liverpool is his favorite destination. The conversations have been going on for three weeks, with Reds sports director Richard Hughes taking the lead in the negotiations.
Bournemouth has determined their appreciation and it is said that the 'growing optimism' is that a deal will be agreed in the coming days. Liverpool will pay £ 45 million to get Kerkez, where the cherries have already signed a replacement in Adrien Truffert.
An issue that still has to be arranged is the shirt number that Kerkez will assume on Anfield. The Hungary International currently wears no. 3 in Bournemouth, although that is occupied by Wataru Endo in Liverpool.
Endo, however, has struggled for playing time since Klopp arrived and could leave this summer well. If he leaves or even turns to the non -occupied no.6 shirt, Kerkez can hold the number 3 sweater.
For his part, Robertson has insisted that he is ready to take on the challenge that Kerkez will bring. He said to BBC Scotland earlier this month: “We are not crazy, it seems that a deal can be closed possible. But until that is done, I did not even give that second thought.
“I am back myself, I have trust in my own capacity and that drives me ahead. I have had eight fantastic years in Liverpool in terms of winning trophies, a pillar in the team that I am incredibly proud of. I am not becoming younger, I cannot change my age.
“But I still believe that I have a lot to give and that is what I concentrate on. I concentrate on myself – you can't concentrate on other people or with whom you are competing. I still believe that I still have a lot to give for many years that I can continue. My body feels good at the moment.”
