Alessandro Bastoni remained impressed by the early impact of new inter -head coach Cristian Chivu while preparing for his first competitive game that was in charge.
Chivu was announced earlier this month as the successor to Simone Inzaghi and returned to the club for which he made more than 100 performances during his professional gaming career.
Inzaghi has since become the new manager of Al-Hilal, with his last game that is in charge of their 5-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
Indeed, their crushing loss was the biggest defeat margin in a Champions League final, and their second loss in the showpiece competition of the competition in the past three years.
Inzaghi won the Serie A-title of 2023-24 with Inter, while he also added two Coppa Italia and three Supercoppa Italiana trophies to their cabinet.
After four “tapping but beautiful” seasons, Bastoni Chivu praised to teach new energy in the team after a difficult period.

“It's not easy, but our task means that we have to start again, try to look at the positive aspects of the season that ends and a new era starts. What we absolutely have to do is bring new enthusiasm.
“We have to find that energy and the coach [Chivu] Helps. He pressed us on the importance of the journey we have had in recent years, the great things we have achieved.
“I was immediately hit by Chivu at a human level. I already knew him, because he was the coach of the Primavera Youth team, but maybe we had to hear him what we have achieved in these years. I was really impressed by him.
“The coach and [assistant manager Aleksandar] Kolarov will have to work on our mentality, because these have been long and draining seasons. “

Bastoni also had a change of coach at international level after Gennaro Gattuso was appointed as the new head coach of Italy, to replace Luciano Spalletti.
“Eras are not infinite, players and coaches must share responsibility if things go badly, but this is what happens in football, and we have to be ready for everything,” he added.
Inter starts their club World Cup campaign on 17 June against Monterrey in Mexico.
