The transfer company of Arsenal is not on its way to the smoothest start in the summer window, and there is probably a blow to their way with a preference of a target of £ 53 million
Another goal of the Arsenal transfer seems to slide out of their grip with Nico Williams reportedly ready to take a wage reduction to facilitate a move to Barcelona. The Gunners have long been associated with the Spain wing player.
Williams, 22, chose to spend another season with Athletic Bilbao after a striking achievement at Euro 2024, including a goal in the final against England. After he helped his side to secure Champions League football for next season, the speculation about who could activate his release clause of € 62 million (£ 53 million) was raised again.
Improving the attack of Mikel Arteta is clearly a priority for the Gunners in the market. Their struggles for the goal in the midst of different injury problems have contributed to the lack of fight they have set up in the title race with champions Liverpool.
But it seems that they will have to exceed the name of Williams from their list of possible signing sessions. According to Sport, he is in favor of moving to Bilbao's La Liga -Rivalen Barcelona, even if it means he hit his wage.
It comes after Portuguese Outlet -record claimed that Arsenal stopped their striving for Viktor Gyokeres, who reportedly chosen them above Manchester United. The price tag of Gyokeres has turned out to be a bottleneck, with sporty CP that apparently continues £ 85 million release clause.
As such, an offer from North Londs of a total of £ 60 million was saved. So it is very much back to the drawing table for the Emirates Chiefs, which have been somewhat slower out of the blocks than their Premier League opposite hits.
The transfer window was opened again this week after a short closure before the start of the club World Cup, and while Man City, Chelsea, United, Tottenham and Liverpool have all closed a deal this summer, Arsenal has to make a signature.
It is generally expected that Martin Zubimendi will be the first, with a total reimbursement of approximately £ 55 million for the real Sociedad midfielder. He fills the lock that was abandoned by Jorginho after his exit as a free agent.
The attention will then have to be focused on the forward line and alternatives to Williams and Gyokees. The striker options seem clearer when Ollie Watkins and Benjamin Sesko names are that are heavily connected to the Gunners in the past.
A dive for Watkins in the January transfer window was not successful and Aston Villa sold Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr of the Saudi Pro League. Preizing him away from Villa Park, where his contract runs until 2028, can therefore be difficult.
In the meantime, Sesko can be just as expensive as Gyokees. Some reports set the price tag of RB Leipzig to £ 92.5 million, although there is the added bonus that he is five years younger at 22 and is the first choice of Arteta.
As far as broad goals are concerned, free agent Leroy Sane has already fallen along the road after he chose to become a member of Galatasaray. The will of AC Milan's Rafael Leao and Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Gittens have been associated, but it seems that there is a lot of work to do that front.
