Like most, Daniel Cormier was surprised to see heavyweight legend Francis Ngannou in UFC equipment this month.
After Ngannou Ciryl Gane defeated in January 2022, a contractual dispute played during his Let -Ooff.
While there was a return to kick off 2023, it was announced that Ngannou left the UFC as champion after rejecting the final offer of the promotion.
'The Predator' has since signed with the PFL and fulfilled its boxing ambitions. All the while UFC CEO Dana White has continued to speak negatively about the Cameroonian.
That seemed to be a UFC comeback good and really off the table, but recent speculation about a return was further fed when Ngannou appeared on the UFC Atlanta Ceremonial Weg-ins to guide Headliner Kamaru Usman.
Daniel Cormier 'nodded' for Francis Ngannou at UFC Atlanta
Days before the performance in Atlanta, his coach Eric Nicksick led to the conversation about Ngannou's UFC-COMback by mentioning his wish to see the long-awaited Jon Jones fight.
Although his presence in Atlanta probably had no influence on that, a man who was critical about the Cameroonian's decision to leave the UFC was still excited to see him.
During an episode of his Good Guy/Bad Guy show next to Chael Sonnen, Daniel Cormier responded to the arrival of Ngannou in UFC Atlanta and talked about the “Aura” that the former UFC champion brings wherever he goes.
“When I saw Francis, I jumped up,” Big Francis! “I hadn't seen Francis that way.
“Francis still wears that aura about him, where you are:” That's a bad guy, man. ” Big Old African Kerel now looks that he is now around 300 pounds.
“And can then struggle? When he pulled Ciryl Gane down, I said:” Oh my God, when he learned to struggle, everyone is in trouble, “Cormier added.
UFC is told that PFL should negotiate Francis Ngannou -trade
The collision between Jones and Ngannou has long been discussed, with them existing even before 'The Predator' became champion in 2021.
The PFL has been clear to express its willingness to promote the competition together with the UFC. But White's promotion was recently told an alternative way to make the fight happen.
According to former hunter Josh Thomson, the financial situation of the PFL, in combination with the lucrative contract of Ngannou and MMA, means that they would have no choice but to entertain a trade offer for 'The Predator'.
“The only way in which it would not be a waste of time is as if there is an exchange,” Thomson said on his ways in Podcast.
“PFL can no longer pay Francis … such as, who are we going to fight? (Vadim) Nemkov, that's the only man. There is no one else to fight. So go on, go back and fight against Jon.
“The UFC needs it. The PFL can use a few other hunters to add to their tournaments,” Thomson added. “Make the trade, whatever it is.
“With Franciscus you could certainly send him. Why am I going to pay (PFL) to him $ 4 million, or whatever it is, plus his opponent to pay $ 2 million? … You don't get the opinions now! You are just bleeding money.”
For now the Jones vs. Ngannou Bout in the imaginative, with the Cameroonian knock outpartist instead held his eyes on a return to the ring.
