The new star of Real Madrid that Trent Alexander-Arnold signs has given his first impressions of the club after he was presented last Thursday. Less than a week later, Alexander-Arnold was able to make his competitive debut.
The 26-year-old English international only participated in his first training session last Friday, before Los Blancos traveled to the United States the next day. Since then, the new manager Xabi Alonso tries to prepare his side for their World Cup debut against Al-Hilal on Wednesday evening. The former Liverpool man, however, has arrived in good condition and Alonso will use it from the start.
During an interview with Real Madrid TV, as worn by Cadena Ser, Alexander-Arnold gave his first impressions of life in the White House.
“They have a lot of quality. The ball moves very quickly. It is clearly very different from what I am used to. They are stars, but it is okay. Good to get an idea of the ball, good to feel the heat. So it was a good session, I enjoy the change, I enjoy being part of it. It feels really good and I am happy to be here.”
His new teammates have given Alexander-Arnold a warm welcome. He of course has an existing friendship with Jude Bellingham from the National Team of England.
“Very good. I can't say enough about the boys and how they all made me feel welcome and at home. They have all put a lot of effort into me, to feel comfortable, if I had questions at all. Especially with the translations and things they helped me a lot with everything, so I can't say enough. Now just excited for the games.”
There is many intrigues to see how Alonso's side assesses their first game on Wednesday. Alexander-Arnold explained that there was a lot of excitement in the camp, in the midst of talking that Alonso has worked hard.
“In that sense we all start all over again. We are all very enthusiastic. We try to learn and absorb all the information as quickly as possible.”
