Palermo has announced Filippo Inzaghi as their new coach of a two -year contract from 1 July, with an option for a third year in the case of promotion to Serie A. Promotion specialist Inzaghi is now expected to lead the club to the top flight.
Palermo has announced the appointment of Filippo Inzaghi as their first team coach. The coach from Emilia will be bound to the Rosanero Club with a two -year contract from 1 July, with an option for a third year in the case of promotion to Serie A.
“Inzaghi was welcomed in Palermo by the Stadsvoetbalgroep, President Mirri and the entire Rosanero family,” read the official statement of the Sicilian club.
Inzaghi, who was born in Piacenza 51 years ago, was one of the best strikers of his generation and scored 291 goals with club teams (his 11 years at AC Milan, his longest Stint) and 25 with the Italian national team.
He started coaching in the 2014/2015 season, at the Milan Bench. At the helm of Venezia, Benevento and Pisa he reached three promotions from series B to Serie A. Palermo asks him for a fourth such performance.
