Villa to face Roma in strange preseason friendly at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium

Villa will play Frankfurt on Saturday 26 July, for three games in the United States St. Louis City, Nashville SC and Bundesliga -Kant Frankfurt. Subsequently, manager Unai Emery and his side will test themselves against Roma who will find out their matches against FC Kaiserslautern and RC -Lens.

Interesting is that this game is not played in Villa Park, but instead is played at the Bescot Stadium, the home of Midlands Rivals Walsall. It will be the second time that Villa has had to deal with the Italian opposition in Bescot, after he had played Roma's city rivals Lazio at the location two summers ago.

The Bescot stadium, where Villa starts their preseason, has only 11,300 fans, who will certainly be sold out because both sets of fans buy tickets for what is perhaps the biggest game of their Pressions in such a small location. The reasoning for not using Villa Park is due to the number of concerts that are held there, for which a lot of maintenance is needed to set up and then dismantle.
