Atletico Madrid wants to tackle left back this summer as one of their priorities. With Benfica left back Alvaro Carreras, their first option for the position, urgently on a move to Rivals Real Madrid, Los Colchoneros looks at England for alternatives.
A number of names are linked to Atletico, with Liverpool left back Andy Robertson supposedly on top of their shortlist. In recent days, Crystal Palace Tyrick Mitchell and Aston Villa -defender Lucas Digne have also been cited as potential options in the position.
The latest name that Atletico looks at as an option is Arsenal Man Oleksandr Zinchenko report offside. The Ukraine star nowadays seems to be excess for requirements for Mikel Arteta, and Arsenal is willing to renounce him for a reimbursement of approximately € 15 million. The Zinchenko camp had 'positive' first conversations with Atletico, although there has been no contact between Los Rojiblancos and Arsenal.
However, Zinchenko has attracted interest from elsewhere in Europe. AC Milan is also interested in Zinchenko, but they might have to solve the future of Theo Hernandez before a movement is made – the French international was of course also connected to Atletico last week, but it seems that they are going in a different direction. If Atletico Hindchenko pursues, that can give them a lead.
The 28-year-old old one is enormously experienced at international level with Ukraine, after earning 74 caps, and played at the highest level for Manchester City and Arsenal over a large part of the past decade. However, there is little doubt that he fell out of grace in London and this season only plays 789 minutes. Diego Simeone generally likes that his defenders are solid without thinking the ball first and ahead, and in that respect Zinchenko would not be the most obvious fit. On the other hand, when Simeone uses wing backs next season, Zinchenko could be an interesting option.
