Arsenal Left Back Myles Lewis-Skelly is impressed by many during his incredible breakthrough season in the Emirates and now the teenager will be rewarded with a bumper new contract
Arsenal Starlet Myles Lewis-Skelly is said to be close to signing a lucrative new deal at the Emirates after his excellent breakthrough season.
The left back was one of the brightest stars of the team in the 2024-25 season after he had the chance to impress and he made the position his own position after a few impressive versions.
Those displays led to a first call from England by Boss Thomas Tuchel and he scored on his debut in a 2-0 win over Albania in March.
Now the Gunners want to reward the player for his sensational turnout with a 'substantial' wage increase, so that he will make one of the best paid young people in the game, according to athletics.
His boss Mikel Arteta would have been the key in the new contract discussions, in which his mother Marcia Lewis negotiates the deal on behalf of her son.
Now that Lewis-Skelly has become 18, he is able to sign a long-term deal. He previously signed professional conditions after being 1723, but at that time was not able to sign a contract for more than three years, which means that his current deal will end next summer.
The debut of the teenager for Arsenal came during the 2-2 draw against Manchester City in September and he earned huge compliments for his solid defensive display, even though he was never before the senior side.
He would play a total of 39 times for the first team when he started 15 games in the Premier League and seven in the Champions League.
There have even been astonishing reports that Real Madrid keeps an eye on the player, but every new deal should bring those stories to bed.
Earlier this season, Lewis -Skelly made clear how much he admires Arteta manager, which indicates his luck in his Boyhood Club – to call him a “genius”.
“His attention to detail is incredible,” he told Sky Sports in April. “I like to learn, so learning him and the way he treats and approaches the games, it's fascinating. There is so much that I can take it from him. He really is a genius.”
In turn, Arteta has been free about the teenage talent and he insisted that his call-up in England was a direct consequence of hard work.
He said in March: “In six months your career can change dramatically for the good, so it's something for people to be inspired. It didn't happen because he was lucky. He insisted on every chance to happen.”
