Neymar was ‘very close’ to joining Fluminense for Club World Cup

Neymar revealed that he was “very close” when joining Santos Fluminense to play in the club World Cup.

The Brazilian superstar, 33, came back to his boy's club in January 2025 after a disastrous enchanting with Al-Hilal, who also plays the tournament in the United States.

Neymar has passed a injury time in Saudi Arabia, which led to his return to Brazil also enjoyed Stints with European powerhouses Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

In conversation on the podcast of the Flow, Neymar stated how conversations were held during another movement, but he chose to stay loyal to Santos who had sustained a hamstring injury in April and May.

'I am in good physical form. We have had these conversations with some teams to play in the [Club] World Cup, Fluminense was something that came very close, “he said.

“But I preferred to train a little more. I am physically 100 percent, but I have to get better to be able to come back in good condition.”
